1. Who is responsible for your information?

Zsolt Makai operates the project and is responsible for deciding how personal information is used. This notice covers enquiries, purchases, the waiting list and optional Founding Tester participation.
2. Enquiries and purchases
We process information needed to answer your enquiry or fulfil an order. This may include your name, email address, delivery address, order details and payment confirmation.
For purchase enquiries and orders, the legal basis is taking steps at your request before a purchase and performing the purchase contract. Tax and accounting records are processed to meet legal obligations. For other enquiries, our legitimate interest is responding to questions and administering the project.
Information needed to fulfil an order is required for that order. Buying does not require a Playtest Report or agreement to promotional emails. The current website uses email purchase enquiries, not an integrated checkout.
3. The waiting list and optional updates
If you request to join the Spark Challenge waiting list, we use your email address and any name you provide to send requested updates about the prepared pack and its availability.
You can separately choose news about the wider project and the future game. We rely on consent for these emails. Buying or reporting does not automatically subscribe you. Joining the waiting list does not grant Founding Tester status or commit you to buying.
You can withdraw consent by emailing us or using an unsubscribe option in a message.
4. Founding Tester reports
If you choose to participate, we process the adult’s name and email address, country, the child’s age, report answers and observations, material substitutions, optional photographs, and correspondence needed to provide recognition.
These details help us understand the play experience, explore ideas behind a separate future game, and administer Founding Tester recognition. We rely on consent requested separately when you submit the report.
Without information needed to assess participation and provide recognition, we may be unable to issue a certificate. You can still buy and enjoy an edition without participating.
5. Children’s information and photographs
Reports must be submitted by a parent or legal guardian. We do not request a child’s full name, date of birth, school, address, medical information or other sensitive details in the report.
Avoid identifying or sensitive information in free-text answers. Photographs should show creations and materials rather than faces or identifying surroundings. If identifying details are submitted accidentally, we will remove or delete them where practicable and may request a redacted replacement.
Reports remain linked to the adult’s submission and are not anonymous while that link remains.
6. Certificates and public recognition
A chosen name for a certificate will be requested separately and used for that purpose. Publicly listing a chosen name requires separate parental consent; you may use a nickname or family name.
We do not publish identifiable reports, photographs or quotations without separate permission. Refusing publication does not affect eligibility for recognition.
7. Services and access to information
The project owner handles information with services used to operate the project:
- Hostinger, for website hosting;
- Hostinger / Titan, for email;
- Google Forms and associated Google storage used to receive and manage report submissions.
Service providers may process information to deliver their services. Information may also be disclosed where required by law. We do not sell personal information.
These services may process information outside the UK. Relevant information is available in the Hostinger Privacy Policy, Hostinger Data Processing Addendum, Titan Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy. Contact us for information about applicable transfer arrangements.
8. How long we keep information
- Enquiries: up to 12 months after resolution, unless part of an order or continuing participation.
- Waiting list: until withdrawal, or up to 12 months after announced release or cancellation of the pack, unless you separately choose continuing updates.
- Reports and photographs: up to one year after the Founding Tester phase ends, and no longer than three years after submission, unless deleted sooner following a valid request.
- Recognition and benefit records: only the minimal adult contact and eligibility details needed, until two years after the separate future game is released. If development is permanently closed without release, these records are deleted within one year of closure. We review their continued necessity while development remains active.
- Order and accounting records: for the periods required by applicable tax and accounting obligations and, where necessary, to resolve an outstanding order or dispute. They are reviewed and deleted when those purposes no longer require them.
We may retain a minimal email opt-out record to prevent further unwanted messages. Its legal basis is our legitimate interest in respecting communication preferences.
Genuinely anonymised findings may be retained for development because they can no longer identify your family. The two-year benefit-record period does not mean reports or photographs are kept until the future game launches.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on the legal basis and circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests.
You have an absolute right to object to the use of your personal information for direct marketing.
Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. This does not affect earlier lawful processing. Deletion rights are not absolute; some purchase records may need to be retained to meet legal obligations.

10. Closing the programme
When the Founding Tester programme closes, new reports will no longer be collected through it. Existing information will be managed according to the retention rules and outstanding commitments. Privacy information for purchases and continuing services remains available.
11. Changes
The current notice and update date are available on this website. If a new use of information is proposed, we will explain it and obtain fresh consent where required.
